Surya Rakesh
Costumes, especially those that are linked to the rich and colorful Indian traditions, have to be at their creative best as far as their designs and looks are concerned. And this is what Surya Rakesh, who has been an artistically creative genius since a very young age, has been passionately embedding into every costume of Saya. A qualified Master in Business Administration (MBA), she combines her artistic penchant with her business acumen impeccably, to make Saya, a success story.
Born in Kochi, in the southern Indian state of Kerala, into an artistic family with strong roots in painting, music, dance, and instrumental music, Surya is a talented mural painting artist with an enviable reputation for her creative designing skills. Her biggest support is her husband, Rakesh Rajan, who too has a deep passion for all kinds of arts, as well as for sports.
Her mantra in life is, ‘To not chase success. It will come to you if you are passionate about what you do’. This attitude augurs well for Saya, with Surya at the helm of the costume designing aspect.
Surya lives in Sydney, Australia with husband Rakesh and their daughter Sanvika.
